Story

Get to Know Us

Aurora Arts Production Company is a place where children and teens can come together to learn and create all aspects of musical theatre. Aurora Arts has a mission to help youth find their place, branch out of their comfort zone, learn new things, all while creating a musical to be shared on stage for friends and family to enjoy. Theatre is so much more than singing and dancing - children will learn to be confident, responsible, and understand the importance of teamwork throughout rehearsals. Having the opportunity to see a child shine on stage, and the smile they take home with them is a profoundly rewarding experience. Come join Aurora Arts Production Company and have your child experience the magic for themselves.

Our
Founder

Dana McDonald

Dana McDonald has been performing since she was seven years old. Dance has always a passion for her and she found herself at home on the stage and in the theatre. Dana started directing and choreographing for Broadhollow Theatre and ran the Theatre for Teens program. She has worked at many community theatres, and schools across Long Island. Dana wants to bring the family aspect of community theatre close to home and create new memories with new generations of children. She has worked with toddlers, school aged children, teens, and adults - and looks forward to expanding Aurora Arts to everyone in the community.

I have met my closest friends that have turned into family through performing and working in theatre. I want to give that community to this generation of children and teenagers. I look to instill confidence in each of my students that will carry them throughout life and into their careers and personal relationships. The teamwork that is required to put on a successful show is unparalleled. Musical Theatre shapes talents beyond what you see on stage, and creates bonds to last a lifetime.
